The series is executive-produced by Russell T. Davies and Julie Gardner and was created by Sydney Newman. "Doctor Who" is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the longest-running science-fiction series on television. It first premiered in England in 1963, where it ran until 1996. This newest incarnation began airing on the BBC in 2005 and airs stateside on the Sci Fi Channel and BBC America.
